In an exhilarating gathering as part of the YW4CULT project, youngsters from the creative and entertainment industry came together at the Ghetto Dance meet-up on the 16th of June, 2023.
This dynamic event was meticulously organized into two parts, ensuring a day packed with inspiration and creativity. In the first segment, participants converged at the Grīziņkalns Sports Complex for invigorating Ghetto Dance masterclasses, where they not only honed their dance skills but also engaged in a spirited, friendly competition.
The second part of the event unveiled the essence of the Youth Work for the Cultural Sector – YW4CULT project itself. Attendees had the privilege of delving into the project’s core concept, its esteemed partners, and an exclusive sneak peek at its practical materials.
The project’s invaluable practical materials were presented succinctly, offering insights into profound self-discovery, talent exploration, and self-assessment for career readiness. Engaging discussions unfolded as young participants shared their personal journeys of talent exploration and contemplated their future prospects within the creative sector. The burning question emerged: Would their cherished hobbies, such as dancing, remain a pastime, or would they embark on a professional journey, weaving their passions into creative projects?
The event’s pinnacle moment arrived with the introduction and hands-on exploration of the project’s dedicated communication platform, “League of Creativity,” designed to unite young artists and employers. Participants enthusiastically navigated the platform, embracing its potential as a springboard for their artistic careers.
As the day concluded, a prevailing sentiment emerged – the current landscape demands adaptability and versatility. Today’s emerging artists are acutely aware of the need for professional evolution, with many considering entrepreneurship as a means to expand their horizons. They aspire to develop their skillsets, positioning themselves to offer their unique talents and services not only within Latvia but on a global scale. Hence, platforms like “League of Creativity,” which empower them to showcase their portfolios, have become invaluable assets.
The Ghetto Dance meet-up served as a testament to the evolving aspirations and dreams of young creatives, aligning seamlessly with the YW4CULT project’s mission to nurture and support the budding talents in the cultural sector.
